About Us This is the FRS Educational Center. This site provides information on Female Reconstructive Surgery (FRS). There are two books written on the subject, No More Hysterectomies, and No More Hysterectomies Part II: The FRS Experience. FRS is based on the concept of conservation of organ function. This is different than gynecology which is focused on pathology. In FRS the goal is to conserve and repair the female body. The difference can be seen in the approach to uterine fibroids. In gynecology a myomectomy or hysterectomy is offered the woman. In myomectomy the fibroids that are obvious are each individually removed and a closure is made. In FRS the uterus is seen as the organ to repair. Incisions are limited and maximum exposure is given to the removal of all fibroids, seen and unseen. The repair is layered and complete to give the greatest anatomical and physiological function. In traditional myomectomy four fibroids may be removed with weakening of the uterine wall, blood loss, and adhesion formation. In FRS twenty fibroids may be removed with reduced cuts to the uterus. There is little blood loss and reduced adhesions. The uterine wall is strengthened not weakened. This is a revolutionary concept to see the female system as a whole system and treat it as such. We educate on this site. We do not diagnose, prescribe, or treat. We also train and educate physicians to become licensed in FRS. Please read all documents on this site.
